Following tips might make sure you have a wonderful travel experience in Chittagong.Travel the city mostly during weekends or avoid pick hours not to get stuck in traffic congestion, because these days Chittagong is experiencing traffic congestion.
Pass a day or couple hours in the morning or evening in Foy's Lake Amusement Park. It may not have  modern rides like Disneyland but the combination of lake, hill and the rides of amusement parks are really wonderful. Enjoy a boat ride around the winding lake. Go up the hill and walk to the end of the park.
Mini Bangladesh has miniature form of Bangladeshi renowned building, replicas, and monuments.They have some collections that display Bangladeshi tradition, culture, heritage and history. Potenga Sea Beach may not be a charming as that of Cox's Bazar but the closeness to the sea and the view of passing ship may give you a different perspective of bustling city. You can take your own food and have it there, though there are many restaurants.
Bataly Hills, located in the center of the city is a place worth visiting with friends or family. The house of  police official is located there. It is a safe place and it is not crowded. Often the security ask the visitors the reason of your visit. If they do not let you go all the way up, a request to visit the nearby hills should convince him. The visitors are expected to behave well. Please do not shout or throw any garbage there.
A trip to British Council in Chittagong may interest you if you love to read books. If you do not have membership and do not want to be a member you can visit there with others that have membership, I believe.
For passing some time in the city free with little open space surrounded by few flower plants, one can visit Biplob Uddan at Gate no.2 area in Nasirabad or United Nation Park in Panchlaish.
If you are a tea lover and want to try tea with traditonal Bangladeshi snack, visit Diamond restaurant in Chittagong New Market. Want to have more deshi snacks? Visit Malancho and the food shop next to it in front of Chittagong General Post Office to try some Bangladeshi food. Some of them are in miniature form though. Do not drink water there. Instead try to drink coconut juice or soda or carry a bottled water.
If you want to try some western  snacks Well Food, KFC, Pizza Hut, Halvatia are there in the city but for Bangladeshi sweets Well food is the best so far. If you are a member of Chittagong Club, try their food too.
Chinese restaurants in Chittagong have name if you visit the good ones. Usuaslly Bonanza, Meridian, Pavilion, silver spoon are few good restaurants, though there are many more you may like.
Shop around Chittagong. Recently Chittagong has some good shopping malls like Sanmar Shopping Center, Ynesco, Amin Center, Mimi Super Market and Old New Market is still there. If you want western clothes at good price and if you are okay with crowd and bargain, you can shop at Zahur Hawker Market.
Try to go out of Chittagong to have a day to Chittagong Hill Tracks. A visit ot Bandarban, Kaptai,Rangamati and Kagrachori may take you out of hustle and bustle of the city and give you a different impression of the country.
