In reply of a question of what to wear in a Bangladeshi wedding this is what I came up with
Thank you for you asking. During winter complete suit is the ideal option. They wear suit in winter, but in summer people wear dress shirt and dress pant. It does not have to be one color shirt. I would wear full sleeve cotton dress shirt in this season with a black dress pant and black shoe. This is wedding I am talking about. If the wedding is held in 5 star hotel people often may want to wear suit.
There is a program called Gaye Holud. There they wear panjabi, a traditional dress available in Bangladesh. It is held usually one day ahead of wedding.
When it comes to gifts, there are no rules. A friend usually gives what his/ her friends like. It can be dress, any jewelry, perfume, show pieces etc. Make sure he writes his name on the gift box, because it may be a huge influx of gifts.
